DHAKA, Dec 31, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League nominated mayor candidate for
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) polls Md Atiqul Islam submitted his
nomination paper to the returning officer Abul Kashem here today.
Atiqul Islam accompanied by AL and businesses leaders went to the DNCC
returning officer’s office at noon and submitted the nomination paper to
contest the DNCC mayoral polls to be held on January 30, 2020.
Dhaka north city AL president Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and general secretary
S A Mannan Kachi and Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salauddin
were present.
According to the Election Commission (EC), December 31 is the last date
for submission of nomination papers and the last date for withdrawal of
candidacy is January 9. The EC will scrutinise nomination papers on January
2.
