Remain alert so none can thwart dev works: Dr Mashiur

DHAKA, Dec 28, 2019 – (BSS) – Prime Minister’s Economic Affairs Adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman today urged people to remain alert so that none can foil the ongoing development works undertaken by the incumbent government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He also called upon the patriotic people to provide necessary support to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she is working relentlessly to materialize the unfinished tasks of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Dr Mashiur was speaking at a discussion on the occasion of ‘Victory Day’ organized by the Muktijoddha Foundation (MF) at Jatiya Press Club this afternoon with its President Principle Gazi Delwar Hossain, a Sub-Sector Commander of 1971 Liberation War, in the chair.

The premier’s adviser said the country in the meantime attained a tremendous development in different sectors.

Dr Mashiur recalled the contribution of freedom fighters with due respect, saying that the patriotic people sacrificed their most valuable assets at the call of Bangabandhu, who cherished to see an Independence Bangladesh to be freed from all sorts of longstanding exploitation and injustice.

The Father of the Nation showed the path of justice and tried to reduce the disparity in the society within the short span of time as the statesman, he mentioned.

“Bangabandhu had farsighted prudence . . . during his tenure he introduced “Agriculture Award” with giving priority to develop the communication and transport system countrywide,” he added.

Dr Moshiur believed that country’s development is not possible without the development of agriculture and demanded of interest-free agriculture-loan without an easy condition.

“Production will be hampered if the farmers don’t get money. Besides, they will have to depend on others,” the adviser observed.

Awami League Central Executive Member and President of Bangladesh Medication Association (BMA) Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, MF Vice President Brigadier General (retd) GM Kamrul Islam and General Secretary Nazrul Islam Babul, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
