BB official, 2 daughters killed in Ctg road accident
CHATTOGRAM, Dec 28, 2019 (BSS) – A Bangladesh Bank (BB) official and two of
his daughters were killed while his wife and son sustained injuries in a road
accident at Fouzdarhat of Sitakunda upazila in Chattogram this morning.
The deceased were identified as BB joint director Saifuzzaman Mintu, 50,
and his daughters – Asra Anam, 13, and Tasnim Zaman Khan, 11. The injured are
Konika Akhter, 40, and son Monti, 09.
Sub-Inspector Jahurul Haque of the Chattogram Medical Hospital Police
outpost said the accident occurred in Bangla Bazar bypass intersection area
around 7:30am when a lorry hit two cars.
Saifuzzaman and his family were in one of the cars. Asra Anam and Tasnim
Zaman Khan were killed on the spot.
“The Bangladesh Bank official succumbed to his injuries at Chittagong
Medical College Hospital around 11am. The condition of his wife Konika and
son Monti are stated to be critical,” the Sub-Inspector said.
Police seized the vehicle but the driver and its helper managed to flee
from the spot.
