Hindu community for rescheduling city corporations polls
DHAKA, Dec 26, 2019 (BSS) – Leaders of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad and Mohanagar Sarbojanin Puja Committee today urged the Election Commission to reschedule the election date set for the two Dhaka city corporations’ polls as the Hindu community would celebrate Saraswati Puja on the day.
The demand was made at a joint meeting of the two organizations in the city here.
The Hindu community leaders said Saraswati Puja will be observed in almost all the educational institutions of the capital on January 30, the day of the two city corporations’ polls.
