Two held with huge fake stamps in Gaibandha

RANGPUR, Dec 26, 2019 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two
persons with huge quantity of fake government stamps worth over Taka 11.79
lakh from Tulsi Ghat Bazar area in Sadar upazila of Gaibandha today.

“The arrested persons are: Shoilen Chandra Roy alias Nadu, 55, and
Khalequzzaman, 50, of different villages in Gaibandha district,” a press
release issued by Acting Company Commander of Gaibandha Camp of RAB-13 ASP
Md. Munna Biswas said this evening.

On a tip off, an operational team from Gaibandha Camp of RAB-13 conducted
a sudden raid and arrested the fake stamp traders with huge fake stamps, Taka
29,300 in cash and two mobile phones from in front of Raihan Dhan Ghar in the
Bazar.

The seized stamps included 374 fake denominations of land registration
stamps and 44,292 fake denominations of revenue stamps of different values
amounting to Taka 11 lakh 79 thousand and 940 in total.

“After filing a case against the arrested persons in this connection, the
elite force handed them over to Gaibandha Sadar Police Station today for
taking further legal actions,” the release added.
