Roadside blast kills 5 security officers in Kenyan border

GARISSA, Kenya, June 6, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – A roadside blast killed five
Kenyan paramilitary police officers in Liboi town along the Kenya-Somalia
border early Wednesday, officials said.

Garissa County Commissioner Joshua Chepchieng confirmed the 8 a.m.
incident, saying the officers were en route to Liboi border point when the
vehicle in which they were traveling in stepped on a landmine.

“It is true that we have lost our officers this morning in the unfortunate
incident. We will provide more details later,” Chepcheing said. No group has
