NETRAKONA, Dec 24, 2019 (BSS) – Three persons, including a woman, were killed in a road accident in Utrail Bazer area on the Shamganaj-Birishiri-Durgapur road in the district this evening.
The deceased were identified as Salina Khatun , 42, wife of Nur Islam of village Biswanathpur under Durgapur upazila in the district, Abdul Koddus, 42 , son of late Iman Ali of village Shimultoli and Nurul Islam Nuru, 42, son of late Abdul Koddus of village Indropur in the upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Durgapur police station Mizanur Rahman said the accident took place when a sand-laden truck collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw in the area, leaving passenger Salina dead on the spot and other passengers Koddus and Nuru injured critically.
Local people rescued the injured and sent them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where on duty doctors declared them dead, the sources said.
Police seized the truck, but none was arrested.
