RECEPTION-FREEDOM-FIGHTER
CCC working for well-being of freedom fighters: Mayor
CHATTOGRAM, Dec 24, 2019 (BSS) – Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has
been working for the wellbeing of freedom fighters (FF) as they made heroic
contribution during the War of Liberation.
City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin said this while presiding over the reception
accorded to the valiant freedom fighters at city’s Engineers Institution in
the port city this afternoon.
Nasir said after his assumption as mayor, 150 freedom fighters were
rewarded by CCC for first two years while subsequently 170 freedom fighters
were rewarded for next years. The CCC rewarded 175 FFs this year.
City Mayor handed over the key of a home, which built by CCC at a cost
of Taka 28.5 lakh, to FF Abdus Salam in the reception function.
Acting President of Chattogram city unit of Awami league Mahtabuddin
Chowdhury, Acting Assistant High commissioner of India in Chattogram Shuvash
Sinha and Honorary consul General of Russia Engr. Ashik Imran, were present
the function as special guests.
Chief Education officer of CCC Sumon Barua delivered welcome speech
while Muktijoddha commander Mozaffar Ahmed, Chief Revenue officer of CCC
Mofidul Alam, panel mayor Hasan Mahmood Hasni, councilors Jobaida Nargis,
Nisaruddin Ahmed, Nazmul Hoque Duke and Mohammed Selim Ullah Bachchu, FF
Abdus Salam and Mohammad Moinuddin were also spoke at the function.
