DHAKA, Dec 24, 2019 (BSS) – A court here today placed three leaders of
Muktijuddho Moncho on three-day remand in a case lodged over the recent
attack on Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) Vice President
(VP) Nurul Haque Nur.
The three accused are – Al Mamum, general secretary of a faction of
Muktijuddho Moncho central unit, Turjo, general secretary of its Dhaka
University unit and Mehedy Hasan Shanto, office secretary of Muktijuddho
Moncho.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Moinul Islam passed the order as police
produced the trio before the court. Shahbag Police Station Inspector
(Investigation) Arifur Rahman Sardar pleaded to place them on 5-day remand.
On December 22, activists of a faction of Muktijoddha Mancha suddenly
attacked Ducsu VP Nur and his supporters at his office at Ducsu-building,
leaving at least 34 people injured.
A case was filed against eight Muktijuddha Mancha leaders and activists
and 30 to 35 other unknown people with Shahbag Police Station in this
connection today.
