DHAKA, Dec 24, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today convicted 10 people and
sentenced them to capital punishment for killing a medicine trader in
Mymensingh in 2007.
Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 Judge Abu Zafar Md Kamruzzaman pronounced the
verdict against Eklas Uddin alias Jewel, Abul Kashem alias Bachhu Member,
Abul Kalem, Abul Kalam Azad, Chandan, Shukkur Ali, Kabir Miah, Badal Miah,
Farruq Miah and Ruma Akhter.
Seven other suspects were acquitted from the charge as the court did not
find their involvement in the killing.
According to the case statement, all the accused in collusion with each
other killed medicine trader Mazharul Islam sometime on February 28 to March
1, 2007, in his shop at Shialdhora Bazar under Nandail upazila in Mymensingh.
