DHAKA, Dec 23, 2019 (BSS) – A two-day International Conference on
‘Innovation in Engineering and Technology (ICIET)’ began at Dhaka University
(DU) today.
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the university organized
the conference at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium on the
campus.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman formally inaugurated the
conference as the chief guest.
Speaking at the inaugural session, he urged the academicians,
researchers and industrialists to work unitedly on the issues of innovation
and technology for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The DU VC stressed the need for educating our people specially youths on
technology for facing natural calamities and various global challenges.
He hoped that outcome of this conference would inspire our teachers,
researchers and students to undertake collaborative research programs from a
common platform.
Prof. Dr. Khorshed Ahmed Kabir and Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section
Prof. Dr. Celia Shahnaz spoke at the inaugural function with DU Engineering
and Technology Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Md. Hasanuzzaman in the chair.
Almost 200 academicians and researchers from home and abroad including
USA, UK, Canada and Japan are participating in the conference.
