DHAKA, Dec 22, 2019 (BSS) – A committee was formed recently to implement the management development and work plan of Dengue or Aedes mosquito prevention.
Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam came up with the information in an inter-ministerial meeting held at the conference room of the local government division at his secretariat here today, a press release said.
Local Government Division’s Additional Secretary (Urban Development) was made convener in the committee, the release added.
The committee also included experts, representatives and entomologists of City Corporation, health services department and various universities, said Tajul.
The minister said the main objective of the committee is to work on the dengue issue with utmost sincerity from now so that there will be no dengue outbreak next year.
Local Government Division (LGD) Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed, Comilla City Corporation Mayor Monirul Haque Sakku, Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury, the representatives of the both Dhaka city corporations and other officials concerned and representatives of Directorate General of Health Services and Department of Environment were present on the occasion.
