FF Abdul Halim passes away

RANGPUR, Dec 19, 2019 (BSS) – Eminent Freedom Fighter (FF) Mohammad Abdul Halim died of old age complications at his residence in village Arazi Niyamat of Sadar union in Gangachara upazila of the district today.

He was 65, family sources said .

He left behind his wife, three sons, two daughters, relatives, a host of
admirers and fellow freedom fighters.

The death of Halim, a retired member of Bangladesh Army cast a pall of
gloom in the socio-cultural and political arena.

His body was kept at Arazi Niyamat High School ground where Gangachara upazila administration placed National Flag and wreaths at his coffin to pay homage to late FF Halim .

Gangachara upazila units of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad and Muktijoddha
Santan Command and other organisations also paid tribute to him by placing
wreaths at his coffin.

A smart contingent of police led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) of
Gangachara upazila Nayeem Hassan Khan accorded a guard of honour and bugle
played the last post before Namaz-E-Janaza of the deceased Halim .

The Namaj-e-Janaza of Halim was held at Arazi Niyamat High School ground at
3 pm after the Johr prayer.

Large number of Freedom fighters, Officer-in-Charge of Gangachara Thana
Mashiur Rahman and people of all strata attended the janaza .

Later, he was laid to eternal rest with full state honour at his family
graveyard.
