Combined efforts stressed for building peaceful society

RANGPUR, Dec 19, 2019 (BSS) – Combined efforts of police, public representatives, business community leaders and common people are important to curb social crimes at grassroots levels for building a peaceful society.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Biplob Kumar Sarker said this while addressing a general meeting of Palichara Hat Traders’ Welfare Association (PHTWA) at Palichara Hat in Saddyapuskorini union of Sadar upazila here on Wednesday night as the chief guest.

Presided over by local Saddyapuskorini union Chairman Md. Sohel Rana, Additional Superintendent of Police (Circle A) Abu Tayeb Md. Arif Hossain and Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Kotwali Thana Sajedul Islam addressed the event a special guests.

Leaders of PHTWA, Palichara union Awami League and local public representatives also spoke at the meeting.

Saddyapuskorini union Chairman Md. Sohel Rana handed over a crest to SP Biplob Kumar Sarkar on behalf of local people for his contribution to maintaining excellent law and order in the union.

The chief guest called upon local public representatives, business community leaders, members of community policing committee and common people to extend cooperation and support to police forces for curbing social crimes.

“We have to work together to save the young generations from the wraths of drug and eliminate terrorism and militancy for smooth national development to build a peaceful, happy and prosperous country,” he said.

He said combined efforts of all concerned would free Saddyapuskorini union from drug, gambling, child marriage, dowry, eve-teasing, terrorism and militancy to set up a glaring example of establishing peaceful society.

Narrating grave impacts of drug abuse, terrorism and militancy, he put special emphasis on creating mass public awareness against these social curses for building a peaceful society on way to build a developed Bangladesh by 2041.
