Police open sub control room at Balashighat in Fulchhari
GAIBANDHA, JUNE 06, 2018 – District police opened a sub control room to
ensure the security of the boat passengers in the Brahmaputra River at
Balashighat point under Fulchhari upazila yesterday.
Superintendent of police (SP) Engineer Abdul Mannan Miah formally
inaugurated the control room as the chief guest.
SP Engineer Abdul Miah said to check the piracy, the sub control room had
been set up here and at least 24 police members would perform their duty
round the clock at three shifts. The piracy took place at the river of
Brahmaputra when the people made their journey across the river by engine
boats.
SP said the police team would patrol the river with boats. On instance
information of occurrence, the police of sub control room would rush to the
spot with speed boats and face the situation promptly.
Additional police super Abdullah Al Faruk, officer in charge (OC) of
Fulchhari M. Belal Hossain, OC of Shaghata thana Mostafizur Rahman, OC of
Sadar thana Khan M. Shariar, inspector of detective branch Mehedi Hasan and
local elites were present on the occasion.
The people from all walks of life highly appreciated the establishment
of the sub control room at Balashighat area at the initiative of the district
police to ensure the security of the boat passengers in the river.
