National Archery Championship begins
DHAKA, Dec 17, 2019 (BSS)- Teer 11th National Archery Championship began
today (Tuesday) at the archery training center of Shaheed Ahsanullah Master
Stadium in city’s Tongi area with the participation of 39 teams.
Championship sponsor Teer executive director (marketing and sales) Jafar
Uddin Siddique and senior deputy brand manager Rubaiyat Ahmed formally
inaugurated the three-day meet as the chief guests.
In the qualification recurve men’s singles event of the first day,
country’s top archer Ruman Sana of Bangladesh Ansar, Prodipto Chakma of
Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan (BKSP), Ram Krishno Saha of Bangladesh
Air Force, Sakib Mollah of Teerondaz Sangsad, Tofazzal Hossain of Dhaka Army
Archery Club, Tamimul Islam of BKSP, Mohammad Hakim Ahmed, Rubel, and
Jannatul Islam of Dhaka District Sports Association finished first, second,
third, fourth, fifth sixth, seventh and eight position after scoring 657,
656, 652, 647, 647, 646, 644 and 628 points respectively.
Meanwhile, in the recurve men’s team event, BKSP, Dhaka Army Archery Club,
Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Ansar, Teerondaz Sangsad, and Dhaka District
Sports Association, Team Blazer BD and Quantum Foundation finished first,
second, third, fourth and fifth position out of nineteen teams after scoring
1946, 1898, 1869, 1867, 1854, 1844, 1843 and 1806 respectively.
