Purging drive will continue to establish good governance: Kamal

DHAKA, Dec 17, 2019 (BSS) – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today
said the purging drive will be continued aiming at establishing good
governance in the country.

“The purging drive is going on. Many people think that we have stopped.
Actually we don’t stop. We will keep the drive continue for establishing good
governance. We will conduct drives on the basis of information,” he said.

The home minister was addressing a discussion organised by Bangladesh
Krishak League as the chief guest at the Awami League’s (AL’s) central office
in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue area.

Krishak League President Samir Chanda presided over the discussion
titled ‘On the occasion of celebrating Victory Day 2019, solidarity of
Krishak League with farmer-friendly Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ongoing
drives against corruption, drug abuse hoarders’.

Mentioning that the Prime Minister has declared ‘zero tolerance policy’
against drug abuse, he said, “We are on a strict position so that drugs
cannot enter our country from abroad.”

Dhaka University (DU) former Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin
Siddique, AL Organising Secretary and State Minister for Education Barrister
Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury (Nowfel) and Krishak League General Secretary
Advocate Umme Kulsum Smriti, its leaders Shakhawat Hossain Suit and Biswanath
Sarker Bitu addressed the discussion, among others.

Speaking about publishing lists of Razakars, the home minister urged the
Liberation War Affairs Ministry to make a complete list of Razakars after
securitising those properly.

Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique, at the event, administered oath to the
Krishak League leaders against corruption, drug abuse and stock.
