Int’l mechanical engineering conference begins at RUET
RAJSHAHI, Dec 17, 2019 (BSS) – A three-day International Conference on
Mechanical, Industrial and Materials Engineering (ICMIME) – 2019 began at
Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) today.
Mechanical Engineering Faculty of RUET organised the conference for the
fourth consecutive time with the main thrust of promoting information of
research and development on related topics and interchange updated scientific
information among researchers, developers, engineers, students and
practitioners working worldwide.
Member of Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof Dr Alamgir
Hossain attended and addressed the inaugural session as chief guest while
Prof Rafiqul Islam Sheikh, Vice-chancellor of RUET, spoke as Chief Patron
with Prof Shamimur Rahman, Convener of the organising committee, in the
chair.
Director of Indian National Institute of Technology Professor Anupam
Basu, Dean of Mechanical Engineering Faculty Prof Mosharraf Hossain and its
Department Head Prof Imdadul Haque and RUET Registrar Prof Selim Hossain also
spoke.
In his remarks, UGC Member Prof Hossain said the conference will bring
great opportunities for both researchers and industrial communities from home
and abroad to share their knowledge and experiences.
RUET VC Prof Rafiqul Islam told the session that the conference will
offer technical activities, including research and technical sessions, poster
sessions, exhibitions, an industry track and a developers’ track.
Over 300 researchers, developers, engineers, students and practitioners
from more than 15 foreign countries, including the host Bangladesh are
participating in the conference.
