DHAKA, Dec 15, 2019 (BSS) – The government is planning to form a strategic partnership with a leading Chinese firm ‘Kingdom Engine International’ to transform services in the financial and smart urbanization sectors.
Chief Executive Officer of Kingdom Engine International Leagan Ling met State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak at his ICT Division’s office to discuss the issues, said a media release today.
Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) Hosne Ara Begum, Policy Adviser, IT-ITES Sami Ahmed, Project Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority A N M Safiqul Islam, Asian Tiger Capital Partners Chairman Ifty Islam were, among others, present.
During meeting, Ling said the Kingdom Engine wanted to contribute to the key building blocks of digital government, industry promotion, connecting Bangladesh, talent development and knowledge transfer and customize software solution for Bangladesh.
“We want to make a partnership with Bangladesh government and local companies to develop software solutions for Bangladesh and other international markets,” he added.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the ICT Division will form a strategic partnership with the Kingdom Engine International to take their cooperation in digitization of financial services and smart urbanizations.
Kingdom Engine International, a Chinese supplier of software and technology services with having $10billion market capital, 5 Research and Development (R & D) Centers and 8,000 employees- 60 percent of them are developer and programmer, has formed joint venture with Asian Tiger Capital Partners.
They are working on three different areas in Bangladesh- Financial Technology (Fintech) capital market, digital transformation in banking and insurance and smart city and smart health. The major shareholders of Kingdom are Tencent, JD.Com, Pingan insurance and Hong Kong
Later, Ling met with ICT Secretary N M Zeaul Alam, BCC Executive Director Parthapratim Deb and LICT Project Director and Director General of Digital Security Agency Md Rezaul Karim.
