DHAKA, Dec 15, 2019 (BSS) – The surrounding areas of the Secretariat will be ‘Silent Zone’ or ‘No Horn Zone’ area from December 17.
As part of making the capital free from sound-pollution, the surrounding area of the secretariat, Zero Point, Paltan intersection and Secretariat Link road will be silent zone from 17 December where no vehicle will be allowed to blow horn, said a press release.
According to Bangladesh Environment Conservation Act 1995, if anyone violates this ban, the offender will be sentenced to maximum one month imprisonment or fined maximum of Taka 5,000 or awarded both fine and jail term for the first time violators.
For repeat offense, the punishment is maximum six months imprisonment or fined maximum Taka 10,000 or awarded both fine and jail term .
