46,300 hectares brought under Boro cultivation in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, Dec 15, 2019 (BSS) – A total of 46,300 hectares of land have
been brought under Boro cultivation in all five upazilas of the district
during the current Boro season.

Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office has fixed a target of
producing 3 lakh metric tons of Boro rice.

Now the farmers are busy to prepare their respective land for planting
seedling as per direction of the field level sub assistant agriculture
officials of DAE to get desired production.

Deputy Director of DAE M Abu Hanif said the department has supplied high
quality seeds and fertilizers among the farmers free of cost to achieve the
production target.

The DD hoped that if the climate remains favorable the desired
production will may come.

Beside, the department has also imparted training to the farmers to make
them acquainted with the modern methods of Boro cultivation.

Meanwhile, the commercial banks including Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank
also disbursed soft loan to the growers during the season to boost
production.
