Govt. strives to thrive and preserve cultural legacy
of ethnic groups –Khasru

NETRAKONA Dec 12, 2019 (BSS)- State Minister for
fisheries and live stock Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru today
said present government has been striving with every
efforts for preserving and flourishing the long-
established rich cultural inheritance of the country’s
indigenous people.

“The government under the dynamic leadership of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina has been implementing different
uplift projects for improving the socio-economic
condition of the Kudra Nree Gostee people (ethnic
community) of the country” he said

The state minister said during the regime of the present
government all people irrespective of cast, creed and
religion are enjoying equal rights to celebrate their
festivals and perform their rites and rituals
independently.

Khasru said this while inaugurating as chief guest the
two day long annual cultural festival of ethnic
community styled “One Gala” on the Kudra Nree Gostee
Cultural Academy premises at Durgapur upazila of the
district.

Chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ICT)
Netrakona AbdullAh -AL- Mahmud, the inaugural function
was addressed, among others , by Chairman of Durgapur
Upazila Parishad Jannatul Ferdus Ara Juma, Upazila
Nirbahi Officer Farjana Kanam, Director of the Cultural
Academy Swapan Hajong and General Secretary of Netrakona
Press Club Shyamelendu Paul.

Later, artists of the Kudra Nree Gustee Cultural Academy
presented a cultural show on ” the life-styles of the
Garo community” at cultural academy premises.

Later, the state minister witnessed the cultural
programmes .
