World Environment day observed in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, June 5, 2018 (BSS) – The Directorate of Environment (DoE),
Chattogram today observed the World Environment Day with various programmes
including a discussion meeting.
In observance of the day, DoE held a discussion meeting on the day’s theme
“Do not reuse plastic waste, if possible shun it” at Hall 24 auditorium this
afternoon.
DoE director Azadur Rahman Mallik presided over the meeting while
Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Abdul Mannan attended the meeting as
the chief guest, Mohammad Jafar Alam, member (admin and planning) of
Chittagong Port Authority, Dr Shahdat Hossain, of the Institute of Marine
Science and Fisheries of Chattogram University and additional Deputy
Commissioner of Chattogram Habibur Rahman, among others, participated in the
discussion.
Later, the chief guest distributed prizes among the winners of debate,
essay and slogan writing competitions.
Earlier, the DoE brought out a colorful rally which was participated by
people from all walks of life including students, activists of NGOs,
environmentalists and representatives of several professional bodies.
