Cumilla Warriors racks up 173-7 against Rangpur
DHAKA, Dec 11, 2019 (BSS) – Captain Dasun Shanaka smashed a whirlwind 31 ball-75 not out as Cumilla Warriors compiled 173-7 against Rangpur Rangers in their first match of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium here today.
Shanaka, who struck three fours and nine towering sixes, helped the side recover from a shaky start and gave the something to defend. Cumilla was struggling at 89-6 in 14th over after which Shanaka made his presence felt with intriguing attacking batting show.
As he was at his ruthless best, Cumilla amassed 51 runs in the last two overs with Shanaka himself making 46 runs at this point. Seven of his nine sixes came at this point as he struck Mustafizur four sixes and Junaid Khan three sixes.
