Chattogram wants momentum going as Dhaka, Rajshahi eye for good start

DHAKA, Dec 11, 2019 (BSS)-The Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL)
will experience the mega clash on its second day when Dhaka Platoon and
Rajshahi Royals, considered as the two best teams on paper will lock horns
against each other tomorrow (Thursday) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket
Stadium.

Both the sides seek a good start in their maiden game. Dhaka, led by
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, expects to get their Pakistan recruit Shahid Afridi
fully well to play the match.

Afridi opted out in the practice session today due to feeling unwell.

“Afridi feels unwell and that’s why he didn’t come to practice. We are
expecting him to feel well tomorrow and play the match,” Dhaka’s wicket-
keeper batsman Anamul Haque Bijoy said.

Rajshahi Royals young batsman Afif said they are looking for a victory in
their opening game.

“We got a balanced side and we have a great leader like Andre Russell who
could take away the match on his day. Hopefully we will have a good start.”

In night’s match, Mushfiqur Rahim-led Khulna Tigers will take on
Chattogram Challengers, who aims to keep up the winning spree after winning
their first game against Sylhet Thunder by five wickets.

Mushfiqur Rahim wants to ruin their hope.

“In T20 cricket, anything can happen. Whoever plays well on their day,
will win the game,” Mushfiqur said.

“You can’t expect that one player will win the game single-handedly for
you. So we are looking forward to play as a unit and start with a winning
note,” he added.
