DHAKA, Dec 11, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder today called for creating new entrepreneurs from the backward community, especially women, as part of the preparation for fourth industrial revolution.

“We will have to modernise the small, medium and cottage industries as part of the preparation for fourth industrial revolution. The government will implement different programmes under ‘SME Policy 2019’ as the small entrepreneurs can get modern training and enough financial support,” he said.

The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at a workshop on ‘SME Policy 2019’ at a hotel in the city, said a press release.

Industries Ministry, Poverty Reduction through Inclusive and Sustainable Markets (PRISM) Project under the European Union and Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD) jointly organised the workshop.

Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Chairman Mustaq Hassan delivered speech as the special guest while Industries Secretary Md Abdul Halim was in the chair.

Kamal Mojumder said the government will take initiatives to establish industrial cities on the fallow land across the country.

He urged the authorities concerned, including bank officials, to take necessary initiatives for providing hassle-free support to the entrepreneurs.
