211 cases filed for driving on wrong-way
DHAKA, June 5, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 211 cases
in a daylong drive on Monday on charges of driving on wrong sides.
Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets filed a
total of 2439 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule
violation and realized Tk 21.92 lakh as fine, said an official release.
As many as 42 other cases for using hydraulic horn, seven for using hotter
and beckon light and five others for using tinted glass were filed.
Some 53 cases, including 37 video cases, were lodged against drivers of
different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while
they were driving.
It also dumped 27 vehicles and wrecked 600 others.
Besides, 735 cases were lodged against motorcycles and 73 motorbikes were
seized for the traffic rule violations.
