7 drug peddlers held with 36,000 yaba tablets in city
DHAKA, June 5, 2018 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of police on Monday
afternoon arrested seven suspected drug peddlers and seized 36,000 pieces of
contraband yaba tablets and a mini-truck from their possessions in the city’s
Jatrabari area.
The arrestees were identified as Shahidullah, 30, Swapon Datta, 32, Mahbub
Sarder, 30, Mahmud Hossain, 30, Ismail Hossain, 47, Kala Hasan, 45, and
Barkat Ali, 35.
“We arrested seven drug traders along with 36,000 pieces of contraband yaba
tablets and a mini-truck used in transportation of the drugs from the city’s
Jatrabari area around 5pm on Monday,” said a DB official today.
A case was logged against the arrestees with Jatrabari Police Station.
