Meraj Uddin, Abdul Wadud become president, GS in Rajshahi AL
RAJSHAHI, Dec 8, 2019 (BSS)- Former Member of Parliament (MP) Meraj
Uddin Molla and another former MP Abdul Wadud Dara have become president and
General Secretary of the newly announced committee of Rajshahi district unit
of Bangladesh Awami League.
Awami League Presidium Member Muhammad Nasim declared their names in
the second and closing session of a daylong council of the district unit of
the party at Shilpakala Academy auditorium here this afternoon.
Simultaneously, names of Advocate Layeb Uddin Labu and Ayen Uddin, MP,
were announced as Joint Secretaries of the committee.
Earlier on, Muhammad Nasim addressed the opening session as chief guest
while Joint-general Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak spoke as chief speaker
with the outgoing president Omor Faruque Chowdhury in the chair.
The last council of the unit was held on December 6, 2014 making Omor
Faruque Chowdhury and Md Asaduzzaman president and general secretary,
respectively.
