AL Sylhet district, city units get new committees
SYLHET, Dec 5, 2019 (BSS) – Freedom fighter Lutfar Rahman and Advocate Nasir Uddin Khan have been made president and general secretary of Sylhet district unit of Awami League (AL) respectively for the next three years.
Besides, freedom fighter Masuk Uddin Ahmad and Professor Jakir Hossain have been made president and general secretary of Sylhet city unit of Awami League (AL) respectively for the next three years.
AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today announced the names of the leaders at the second session of the units’ council at Government Alia Madrasah playground in the city.
Earlier, the AL general secretary inaugurated the council by releasing balloons and pigeons and addressed it as the chief guest with Sylhet district unit AL acting President Lutfar Rahman in the chair.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad, AL Presidium Member Nurul Islam Nahid, Joint General Secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif and Abdur Rahman and Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hossain addressed the council, among others.
