Khasru seeks France cooperation in extracting marine fisheries

DHAKA, Dec 04, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Md Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru today sought France cooperation for extracting Bangladesh’s marine fisheries.

“After the maritime victory in the Bay under the prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, France can help Bangladesh in extracting marine fisheries from its vast marine regions,” he said.

He stated this as French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marin Schuh met him at his office at the Secretariat here.

During the meeting, they had discussion on the issues of fisheries, livestock, dairy and maritime resources of the two countries and called for strengthening the existing bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two nations.

Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Md Raisul Alam Mandal, Additional Fisheries and Livestock Secretaries Kazi Wasi Uddin and Shyamol Chandra Karmakar, Economic Counselor of the Embassy of France Pierre-Henry Lenfant, Livestock Department Director General Abdul Jabbar Sikder, Fisheries Department Director General Kazi Shams Afroz, Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) Director General Dr Nathu Ram Sarkar and Bangladesh Fisheries Development Chairman Corporation Dildar Ahmed were present, among others, on the occasion.
