Speaker invited to visit Indian Lok Sabha
DHAKA, Dec 4, 2019 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury has been invited to visit the Indian parliament Lok Sabha.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das today handed over
an invitation letter on behalf of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birala to the speaker
when she (Riva) paid a courtesy call on Dr Shirin at her parliament office
here, said a press release.
Accepting the invitation, the speaker assured the Indian high commissioner
of visiting the Lok Sabha at a suitable time.
Dr Shirin informed that she would invite the Indian Lok Sabha speaker to
visit Bangladesh Parliament on the occasion of ‘Mujib Year’ marking the birth
centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
During the meeting, they discussed on improving bilateral relations,
Bangladesh’s socio economic development and ‘Mujib Year’.
