BAF replaces contingents in DR Congo

DHAKA, Dec 4, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) is going to replace
its three contingents consisting of 320 members at United Nations
Peacekeeping Mission deployed in Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO).

As a part of this replacement, 175 BAF members left Dhaka for Congo today
by UN chartered aircraft, said an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR)
press release here.

These contingents are comprised of Utility Aviation Unit-17, Air Field
Services Unit-17 and Air Transport Unit-10 led by Air Commodore Md Reza Emdad
Khan, Group Captain Md Aminur Reza Ibne Abedin and Wing Commander Abul Kashem
Muhammed Faisal respectively.

A special prayer was offered seeking more excellence of the contingents in
future at departure lounge of the Hazrat Shahjahal International Airport
(HSIA) prior to their departure for Congo.

Senior BAF officers were also present at the airport during the departure.
Earlier, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat briefed
the contingent members at BAF Base Bashar on November 24, 2019 and took part
in a special Munajat for success of the mission.

BAF has achieved reputation and glory by performing their duties in
mitigating conflict with efficiency, professionalism and sincerity in Congo
mission.
