Introductory meeting of Shaheed Colonel Jamil Smrity Sangshad held
JASHORE, Dec 4, 2019 (BSS) – Introductory meeting of newly formed
Shaheed Colonel Jamil Smrity Sangshad was held at the auditorium of Zila
Shilpolaka academy on Tuesday.
President of the Sangshad Freedom Fighter Afjal Hossain Dodul presided
over the function. Daughters of Colonel Jamil, Tania Enayet Tanu and Jasmine
Jamil Kangkon were present as special guests.
General Secretary of the Sangshad Sajjad Goni Khan Rimon delivered the
welcome speech.
Vice president of the Sangshad Sahabuddin Alam, joint general secretary
Pronab Das, office secretary Salman Hasan Rajib, youth and sports secretary
Nur Imam Babul and treasurer mijanur Rahman Swapon were present, among
others.
The government had promoted Shaheed Colonel Jamil Uddin Ahmad, psc, to
Brigadier General (Posthumous) as recognition to his appropriate worthiness
and sacred responsibility.
Brig Gen Shaheed Jamil Uddin Ahmad, who laid down his life while trying
to save Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15, 1975, has been
awarded ‘Bir Uttam’ posthumously.
