DHAKA, Dec 03, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution
(BSTI) today destroyed fake cosmetics worth about Taka 4 crore in the city.
A mobile court of the BSTI led by its Executive Magistrate Begum Rashida
Akhter conducted overnight drives on Monday in city’s Keraniganj and
Chawkbazar areas and destroyed fake cosmetics of many brands, including
Johnson & Johnson, Parachute, Kumarika, Amla, Moov and Itch Guard, on Demra
dumping ground today, a BSTI press release said.
BSTI Executive Magistrate Begum Rashida Akhter fined Md Robin Tk one lakh and
sentenced him to 3-month imprisonment for producing counterfeit cosmetics.
