No question of govt interference in Khaleda’s bail: Anisul

DHAKA, Dec 03, 2019 (BSS) – Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs
Minister Anisul Huq today said the matter of getting bail by BNP chairperson
Begum Khaleda Zia in graft case lies completely with the court, there is no
question of any interference by government in it.

“The judiciary used to be controlled by government during BNP tenure.
But the situation is not the same now. Judiciary is completely independent
now,” he said.

The minister said these while addressing inaugural function of 21st
special training course for government pleaders (GP) and public prosecutors
(PP) at Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI) here in the
capital.

Presided over by JATI Director General Justice Khondker Musa Khaled, the
inaugural ceremony was also addressed by Law and Justice Division secretary
Md Golam Sarwar.

While talking about reforming Land Survey Act, the law minister said the
act would be raised at next parliament session in this regard and once
reformed, senior assistant judges and assistant judges too would be able to
conduct the concerned trial alongside a joint district judge.

Urging GPs and PPs to observe their duties with the mentality of serving
people for expanding the idea of Access to Justice, Anisul said they have to
assist the case management process while complying with court’s direction.
