BGB seizes Tk 81.91 crore goods in November
DHAKA, Dec 01, 2019 (BSS)- Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods, drugs, arms and explosives worth Tk 81.91 crore from the border area and other places of the country during the month of November.
The seized drugs included- 4,41,420 pieces yaba tablets, 36,403 bottles of phensedyl ,8,108 bottles of foreign liquor, 278 litres of locally made liquor, 483 cans beer, 571 kg hemp, 907 kg heroin, 89,899 piece senegra tablets and 969 pieces of injections, a press release issued here today said.
Seized smuggled goods included 5.217 kg gold, 11,152 pieces of metal jewellery, 1,09,317 pieces of cosmetics products, 1,257 pieces of sari, 275 three pieces (woman’s clothing), 1,325 readymade garments, 8,367 metres of fabrics, 6 sculptures, 1,726 cubic feet of wood, 1,699 kg of tea, 22 trucks, 3 pickup vans, 2 private cars, 11 CNG and 40 motorcycles.
BGB said 265 people were accused of drug trading, trafficking and smuggling and 336 Bangladeshi citizens, 7 Indian citizens, 4 Nigerian citizens were detained for illegally crossing the border.
