Language-based state- result of Bangabandhu’s long struggle: Jabbar

DHAKA, Dec 01, 2019 (BSS) -The War of Liberation was the culmination of Bangabandhu’s lifelong struggle to establish a developed country, focused on Bengali language and culture.

This was stated by Post and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar while addressing as the chief guest of the ‘Shoto borshe Bangabandhu: 2020’ programme in the city, arranged by the National Freedom Fighters Foundation, said a press release.

“Bangabandhu, the fugleman of the Liberation War united the countrymen and psyched them to participate in the war. He is the organizer of the Liberation War in 1971”, Jabbar said.

Stressing the need on adopting appropriate action plans and implementing them to mark the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Jabbar said, “Bangabandhu’s birth centenary in 2020 and the Golden Jubilee of independence in 2021 are considered to be the years of celebrations for the entire nation”, added the release.

Highlighting the comparative economic indicators of Bangladesh and Pakistan in the past ten years, the minister said that “Bangladesh, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is a wonder country in the sector of development of the world today”.

“Over the past 11 years, Bangladesh has set an example of rapid progress in each index, including average life expectancy and maternal-infant mortality. Bangladesh has established itself as a role model of development” the minister said.

Earlier, Jabbar led a victory
Procession which started from the Jatiya Press Club and terminated at Shahbag.

Awami League Liberation War Affairs Secretary Advocate Mrinal Kanti Das, MP, Bangladesh Communications Satellite Company Chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmud, National Freedom Fighters Foundation Chairman Dr SM Jahangir Alam were also present during the programme.
