DHAKA, Dec 1, 2019 (BSS)- The by-poll to Chattogram-8 constituency will be held on January 13.
Election Commission (EC) Senior Secretary Md Alamgir announced the election schedule at a press conference at Nirbachan Bhaban’s media room in the city.
As per the schedule, the last date of submission of nomination papers is December 12 and the scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on December 15. The deadline for withdrawal of candidature is December 22.
The EC will use Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in all centres, he said.
The Jatiya Sangsad seat fell vacant after the death of Mainuddin Khan Badal, the executive president of a faction of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSaD).
Badal passed away at a hospital in Bengaluru in India on November 7 at the age of 67.
