CHATTOGRAM, Nov 30, 2019 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
arrested an arms trader with four one-shooter guns and 23 rounds cartridge
from Shikalbaha area under Karnaphuli thana in the city today.
The arrested was identified as Mohammad Ali Akbar, 50, son of Nur Ahmed,
hailed from Hatiya upazila of Noahkhali district.
Assistant Director of RAB-7 Mahmudur Rahman Mamun said, based on secret
information, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area and
nabbed Akbar with the arms and ammunition around 5am.
“In primary interrogation, the arms trader confessed his involvement with
such arms trading for long,” Mamun said, adding that a case was filed with
Karnaphuli thana in this connection.
