Disney’s “Frozen II” continues to lead Chinese mainland box office
BEIJING, Nov 28,2019 (BSS/XINHUA) – “Frozen II,” a sequel to the 2013
Disney animated blockbuster “Frozen,” dominated the Chinese mainland box
office Wednesday, according to the China Movie Data Information Network
Thursday.
The film grossed 15.97 million yuan (about 2.25 million U.S. dollars) on
its sixth day of screening, accounting for about 36.5 percent of the daily
total.
The animated musical fantasy film continues the story of Elsa, a queen
with icy powers, and her warmhearted sister Anna. In the new film, Anna and
Elsa travel to an ancient enchanted forest to find the origin of Elsa’s
powers in order to save their kingdom.
It was followed by Chinese romantic drama “Somewhere Winter” and American
war film “Midway,” which raked in about 5.86 million yuan and 3.54 million
yuan, respectively.
