Rabiul Husain laid to eternal rest

DHAKA, Nov 27, 2019, (BSS) – Ekushey Award-winning poet and architect
Rabiul Husain was laid to eternal rest at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals’
Graveyard after Magrib prayers today.

Earlier, his body was taken to Bangla Academy and Central Shaheed Minar
where people paid their last respects to the noted personality till 12 noon.

His first namaz-e-janaza was held after Johr prayers at Dhaka University
Central Mosque.

Later, his body was taken to Institute of Architects and Liberation War
Museum in the capital where renowned political, cultural, social
personalities and organisations paid rich tribute to him.

Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman, Liberation War Museum Trusty Kamal
Lohani, former Director General of Bangla Academy Shamsuzzaman Khan, former
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Nur, among others, were present.

The eminent litterateur breathed his last at the Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital yesterday at the age of 76.
