Fateha-e-Yajdaham to be celebrated on Dec 9

DHAKA, Nov 27, 2019 (BSS) – Holy Fateha-e Yajdaham, the birth celebration of Hazrath Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (ra), will be observed on December 9 across the country.

The date was finalized at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee in Islamic Foundation conference room in Baitul Mukarram National Mosque today, said a press release issued here.

During the meeting, it was informed that the moon of Arabic month Rabius Sani of 1441 Hijri was not seen from anywhere in the country.

For that reason, tomorrow will be considered as the 30th day of the ongoing Rabiul Awal month and Rabius Sani month will be counted from Friday, 29th November, added the release.

The meeting informed that the decision was taken based on the information collected from the District Administrations’, Islamic Foundation, Divisional and District Offices, Bangladesh Space research and Remote Sensing Organization and Bangladesh Meteorological Department, said the release.

Additional Secretary of the Religious Affairs Ministry Kazi Hasan Ahmed presided over the meeting.

Senior officials of the ministry, Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Space research and Remote Sensing Organization and Bangladesh Meteorological Department were present during the meeting.
