President for properly utilizing IT in military life

DHAKA, Nov 26, 2019 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today asked each member of armed forces to properly utilize the scopes of information technology (IT) in military life and simultaneously to keep always ready to prevent its misuse.

“Properly utilize all facilities of IT (information technology) in your workplace . . . Keep always ready to prevent misuse of IT,” the President said while addressing a banquet at Bangabhaban marking the Armed Forces Day-2019.

“Cybercrime is now a daily event . . . So our each member of the armed forces must remain aware of their respective duties,” suggested Abdul Hamid, also the Commander-in-Chief of armed forces.

Noting that with the rapid advancement of IT, he said, the overall challenges have increased sharply as the opportunities in each profession are on the rise simultaneously.

“The security of national, social and personal levels are now under threat due to this,” the head of the state observed.

The President termed the deep confident on leadership, mutual faith and respect, professional efficiency and overall discipline as the prerequisite to the development of any force.

He hoped that each armed force member, being imbued with the great Liberation War spirit, would continue their relentless efforts in the welfare of the dearest homeland.

“I firmly believe, the members of armed forces will stay full loyal to their leadership and try to uphold their image by dint of hard exercise, discipline, professional expertise, dutifulness and patriotism,” he added.

Lauding the overall performance of the armed forces in protecting country’s Independence and sovereignty, the President said apart from regular tasks, they are doing other outstanding works, including providing support to any natural calamities.

Abdul Hamid hoped that the armed forces members would build them world-standard and go ahead coping with the developed world.

Prime Minister’s Security Adviser Major General (retd.) Tareque Ahmed Siddique, cabinet secretary, chiefs of the three services, principal secretary, secretaries concerned to Bangabhaban, senior civil and military officials, among others, were present on the occasion.
