E-traffic prosecution system launched in Khulna division
KHULNA, Nov 26, 2019 (BSS) – Khulna range police have launched e-traffic
prosecution and fine payment system software coincided with traffic awareness
week in all ten districts under its jurisdiction in a bid to bring
transparency to the process of collecting fines from traffic rule violators.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Khulna Range Police Dr. Khondkar
Mohiuddin introduced the system at a function held on Katakhali Shaheed Sriti
Adorsho Degree College ground in Bagerhat here as the chief guest esterday.
Chaired by Additional DIG (Operations and Crimes) for Khulna Range Police
AKM Nahidul Islam, the function was addressed, among others, by Deputy
Commissioner (DC) of Bagerhat Md. Manunur Rashid, Superintendent of Police
(SP)’s of ten districts under Khulna Range Police, President of Khulna Motor
Workers Union Kazi Nurul Islam Baby, and Head of Corporate Business Grameen
Phone Md. Nasir Yousuf.
Mohiuddin said the Road Transport Act-2018 would be useful to bring back
order in the road traffic system.
“This Act has not been only enacted to realise fines from traffic rule
violators, but also to bring discipline in the road traffic system for
building a safe country,” he said.
The new system will enable clients in depositing fined money soon after
recording cases relating to violation of traffic rules and regulations
through U-cash and Q-cash easily utilizing the new digitized system at
different booths.
“The e-traffic prosecution system will ensure transparency in traffic
policing activities, oblige drivers in abiding by traffic rules and keeping
necessary documents while driving vehicles on the roads and highways to
reduce road accidents,” he added.
Later, all SPs of the ten districts under Khulna Range Police signed deals
with United Commercial Bank (UCB) and Grameen Phone to enable traffic rule
violator clients in paying fined money easily at different booths in Khulna
division.
