1st SAARC Chess Championship begins tomorrow
DHAKA, Nov 24, 2019 (BSS)- The 1st SAARC Chess Championships open and
women’s begins tomorrow (Monday) at FARS Hotel and Resorts in city’s Paltan
area.
State Minister of Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP, is expected to
inaugurate the event as chief guest. Akhter Hossain, Secretary of Ministry of
Youth and Sports and Berik Balgabaev, adviser of FIDE (World Chess
Federation) president, will be present as special guests.
Benazir Ahmed, president of Bangladesh Chess Federation and director
general of Rab Forces will preside over the opening ceremony.
The event will be held in 9 round Swiss League system.
