Probe report finalized against 3 Jhenaidah Razakars

DHAKA, Nov 24, 2019 (BSS) – The investigation agency of the
International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today finalized its probe report into the
alleged crimes against humanity committed by three Razakars from Jhenaidah.

The three accused include Md Abdur Rashid Miah, 66, and Md Saheb Ali
Malitha, 68. The probe body chief coordinator Mohammad Abdul Hannan Khan
refrained from revealing the identity of another accused, who is yet to be
arrested.

“We have prepared two charges against the accused. Both Rashid and
Malitha were involved with the politics of Jamaat-e-Islami and subsequently
formed Razakar Bahini in their locality and carried out crimes against
humanity,” Khan said at a press briefing held at its Dhanmandi office today.

Probe agency coordinator M Sanaul Huq at the briefing said they
initiated probe against the trio on June 27, 2016 and completed today,
adding, they would submit the report to prosecution office soon.

According to the first charge, Rashid Miah and his Razakar gang
including Malitha and the absconding accused raided house of Freedom Fighters
Mahir Uddin Mondal and Asir Uddin Mondal on June 17, 1971. Razakars detained
their brothers Azibor, Habibur Rahman Mondal and Ansar Mondal and shot and
killed them on Dhopaghata Bridge on Magura Road and threw the bodies in the
river.

According to second charge, the accused detained one Muluk Chan from
village Kola on June 24, 1971, for helping Freedom Fighters, and took him
away only to never return.
