Wild elephants kill 3 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 24, 2019 (BSS) – Three people were trampled by wild
elephants in Kadurkhil, Syednagar and Joistapura areas of Boalkhali upazila
of the district this morning.

The deceased were identified as Abu Taher Mistri, 61, former headmaster
of BB Government Primary School Jaker Hossain, 66, and farmer Abdul Mabud,
59.

Police said Abu Taher was trampled by wild elephants when he was going
to his musterd field. He died on the spot.

The wild elephants attacked Jaker Hossain near Chandarhat Jame Mosque in
Syednagar village.

Critically injured jaker Hossain was taken to Boalkhali Upazila Health
Complex where the attending doctors referred him to Chattogram Medical
College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, victim’s younger daughter
Fahmina Afroz said.

Shamsul Alam, a villager of Joistopura village said a herd of wild
elephants attacked farmer Abdul Mabud while he was working at his vegetable
field at Joistapura in the morning. He died on the spot.
