Ruthless India inflicts innings defeat to Tigers in D/ N Test
KOLKATA, Nov 24, 2019 (BSS)-Bangladesh could survive only 48 minutes of
the third day before India completed an innings and 46-run win over them in
the second Test, a maiden day-night affair for both of the teams with pink
ball, to seal the series 2-0 at iconic Eden Gardens here on Sunday.
Mahmudullah Riyad, sustained a hamstring injury and subsequently retired
hurt for 39 on day two, didn’t come to bat, as Bangladesh ended their second
innings on 195-9 in 41.1 overs.
Fast bowler Umesh Yadav took all the remaining three wickets on day three
to finish with 5-53, his third five-for in Test cricket after Bangladesh
resumed on 152-6. Ishant Sharma had figures of 4-56.
Mushfiqur Rahim was the highest scorer for Bangladesh in this innings
with 74, while Al-Amin Hossain made 21.
Bangladesh was bowled out for 106 in its first innings, before India
decalred on 347-9.
The Tigers lost the first Test in Indore by an innings and 130-run
margin.
