MANIKGANJ, Nov 24, 2019 (BSS) – Two persons were killed and 20 others
injured in a road accident at Falsatia village under Shibalaya upazila of the
district early this morning.
The deceased were identified as Saiful Morol, 30, son of Khodabox Morol
of village Shuvasini under Tala upazila in Satkhira district and Masud
Sheikh, 25, son of late Soban Sheikh of village Charkamlapur in Faridpur
district.
Police said the accident occurred at about 1 am on the Dhaka-Aricha
highway when a Faridpur-bound bus collided head-on with a fish-laden truck,
leaving truck driver Saiful and Masud, passenger of the bus, dead on the spot
and injured 20 others.
Officer-in-Charge of Barangail Highway Police Station Yamin-ud-Doula
said among the injured, five were admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital, six
to Monno Medical College Hospital, seven to Shibalaya Upazila Health Complex
and critically injured two were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
A case was filed with Shibalaya Police Station.
